Nodes and Peers Over Time


Peer Scorecard

How reliably each peer has been reachable, and how many nodes it can itself reach (its horizon, from its own routing table).

Uptime is measured from GB7CAM’s vantage point, so a gap can reflect this node or its link being down rather than a fault at the peer.

Node Stability

What fraction of snapshots each node has appeared in. The stable core is present in every snapshot; the marginal ones flicker in and out, and are the routes a stricter quality threshold would drop first.

Peer Overlap

How much the peers duplicate each other. Unique contribution is how many nodes are reachable through exactly one peer, and it moves a lot: see the notebook post Packet Networks and Protein Networks on g0lft.org for why.

Backbone Nodes

The complement of unique contribution: nodes reachable through more than one peer. The more peers reach a node, the more redundantly it sits in the network, so this ranking tends to surface the backbone the wider network routes toward. Averaged over all snapshots, so a momentary double-sighting does not count.
